Are These ‘Nymphomaniac’ Posters Exhibiting an O-Face or Something Else?

I didn’t say anything when I posted Nymphomaniac, but with this second batch I know it’s obvious, given the content of the film, these images are supposed to represent the faces of these characters in the film at that moment of sexual climax. However, I can’t get over the fact it looks like Shia LaBeouf is urinating, like Willem Dafoe is being tickled and Stellen Skarsgaard and Jamie Bell are, well, I think you can probably assume what I think. I can’t really tell what Christian Slater is doing, it looks like he might be watching or seeing something he just can’t believe, perhaps a David Blaine magic trick.

As for the women, I guess they’re rather representative of the moment in question, though Connie Nielsen looks like she might be strangling someone, though, to her credit, she seems to be enjoying it.

You can check out the two new posters below, but first, in other Nymphomaniac news, it’s being reported the first cut of the film to hit theaters in Denmark and Norway in January will be a four-hour cut, not the five-hour, unrated cut that was being rumored to play the Cannes Film Festival. That Cannes cut has been denied by the film’s producers and the decision to release both a softcore and a hardcore version seems to have been abandoned as well, which I guess just means cuts of different lengths, all likely rather explicit, will be the order of the day.

Most recently producer Peter Aalbæk Jensen talked to Allocine (via The Playlist) discussing von Trier’s 5 1/2 hour cut of the film saying, “It does exist, a version that’s 5 1/2 hours long, and it contains deeply explicit scenes, but it’s not yet finished and cannot be projected in normal conditions. Moreover, nobody in our camp has seen it. Like many other distributors worldwide, we signed right from the beginning for a four hour version and that’s the one we decided to release in two parts, the first on January 1st and the other on January 29th [in France]. After that, it belongs entirely to Lars von Trier to show his personal version, why not in a large festival or in a DVD or Blu-ray Collector’s Edition?”

Okay, so maybe it will show in Cannes, who knows? Here are those two new posters and if you missed the first batch of 14 click here.
