Your Box Office Predictions for ‘Thor 2’, ‘Best Man Holiday’, ‘All is Lost’ and ‘Kill Your Darlings’

The readers have a little less faith in Thor: The Dark World‘s holdover chances, looking at a 47% drop and a $45.2 million second weekend compared to Laremy’s 42% decline, but one thing is for sure, the lack of competition means it’s very unlikely it’s going to face a 50+% drop which is very good for a film of this sort.

Behind it is The Best Man Holiday, which is looking to dramatically increase compared to the 1999 original, which opened at $9 million ($14.3 million adjusted for inflation) as both the readers and Laremy are looking at a $20+ million opening weekend, though Laremy is a little more bullish, going $1.7 million higher than the readers’ $20.8 million aggregate.

We then move to a couple smaller releases as All is Lost, which has added 82 theaters for a total of 481 and both the readers and Laremy agree on a predicted $1.5 million three-day. There is, however, a large discrepancy in the predictions for Kill Your Darlings, which is adding 39 theaters for a total of 71. Laremy is going with only $140,000 while the readers are spotting the limited release $490,000. We’ll see who’s closer soon enough.

I’ve included Laremy’s predictions and the average reader predictions directly below and I’ll be back on Sunday with box office estimates. To see Laremy’s full list of predictions and all 90 reader predictions for this weekend click here.
