After Charlie Hunnam (Pacific Rim) Fifty Shades of Grey adaptation a slew of names were listed as possible replacements and it seems we finally have our man. Jamie Dornan, known for playing Sheriff Graham on ABC’s “Once Upon a Time” will play the male lead in the film based on the book by E.L. James opposite Dakota Johnson as Anastasia Steele, with Sam Taylor-Johnson directing.
The story centers on Anastasia Steele, a literature student who goes to interview young entrepreneur Christian Grey whom she decides she wants to have vigorous sex with and, wouldn’t you know it, Christian is down with it and even offers up a few sadomasochistic ideas into the bedroom. What fun!
Next step is to fill out the rest of the cast so production can get underway for the August 1, 2014 release date. [Variety]
