‘300: Rise of an Empire’ Motion Poster Makes Waves

Before my screening of We’re the Millers on Monday I’m pretty sure they showed the trailer for 300: Rise of an Empire. I say “pretty sure” because all we heard was the audio with no accompanying image and it was loud and I think I heard Eva Green‘s voice, but I can’t be sure.

300: Rise of an Empire was originally supposed to open this weekend, but was then moved to March 7, 2014, which isn’t as suspicious as a move like that would normally seem as they have essentially slotted the same release date the first one had back in 2007 when it became a massive surprise success.

Based on Frank Miller’s latest graphic novel “Xerxes”, this new chapter of the epic saga takes the action to a fresh battlefield — on the sea — as Greek general Themistokles (Sullivan Stapleton) attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war. 300: Rise of an Empire pits Themistokles against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro), and Artemesia (Green), vengeful commander of the Persian navy.
