New Look at Colin Firth in TIFF Bound ‘The Railway Man’

I still have a lot of new pictures to preview from the films that will be premiering at the 2013 Toronto Film Festival and I’m hoping to get to a lot of them today and first up is The Railway Man from director Jonathan Teplitzky (Burning Man) and starring Colin Firth, Jeremy Irvine (War Horse), Nicole Kidman, Stellan SkarsgÃ¥rd and Hiroyuki Sanada. And just above is a new look at Firth in the film which was shot by Garry Phillips.

Based on the bestselling novel, The Railway Man tells the extraordinary and epic true story of Eric Lomax (Firth), a British Army officer who is tormented as a prisoner of war at a Japanese labor camp during World War II. Decades later, Lomax discovers that the Japanese interpreter he holds responsible for much of his treatment is still alive and sets out to confront him, and his haunting past.

The film is without a domestic distributor so its premiere in Toronto is going to be an important one.

You can check out the complete 2013 Toronto Film Festival lineup right here and it will be updating with more films over the next week or so.
