New ‘Elysium’ Poster – He Can Save Us All

One of the few remaining films for Summer 2013 worth anticipating would seem to be Neill Blomkamp‘s Elysium starring Matt Damon and Jodie Foster. I’ve managed to only see snippets of the trailer here and there, but just about everything I see makes it appear to be something I am going to enjoy watching. Granted, marketing is designed for this strict purpose and today I bring you a little more.

Just below is the new poster for Elysium, which utilizes one of the more common poster trends, the “words all over the face” trend as Damon stares with the words “He Can Save Us All” scrawled across his mug.

The film is set in the year 2159, where two classes of people exist: the very wealthy, who live on a pristine man-made space station called Elysium, and the rest, who live on an overpopulated, ruined Earth. Secretary Delacourt (Foster) will stop at nothing to preserve the luxurious lifestyle of the citizens of Elysium – but that doesn’t stop the people of Earth from trying to get in by any means they can. Max (Damon) agrees to take on a life-threatening mission, one that could bring equality to these polarized worlds.

Elysium hits theaters August 9.
