New Pictures and First Clip from Woody Allen’s ‘Blue Jasmine’

The talk surrounding Cate Blanchett‘s performance in Woody Allen‘s Blue Jasmine is all about Oscar after the first screenings of the film took place last week in New York. I’m seeing the film this afternoon and as luck would have it I’ve got a new clip from the film (via EW) and 15 pictures to share.

The short of the story is to say the film centers on an elegant New York socialite, Jasmine (Blanchett). After everything in her life falls to pieces, including her marriage to wealthy businessman Hal (Alec Baldwin), she moves into her sister Ginger’s (Sally Hawkins) modest apartment in San Francisco to try to pull herself back together again.

I have updated the official page for the film with the complete synopsis if you’d like even more of the story, but I’d rather you made that choice than me give it all away.

The film hits New York and Los Angeles theaters on July 26 and will expand nationwide throughout the year. If the buzz is any measure of its quality, Sony Classics may have another Midnight in Paris from Woody, though without the Cannes fanfare can the buzz reach loud enough volume?

Check out the clip and the new pictures directly below and on the second page and let me know what you think.
