A series of six promotional pictures featuring the characters in the upcoming July 26 release of The Wolverine have arrived along with the short, 16-second international TV trailer you see above.
Among those pictured you’ll see Hugh Jackman as the title character, Rila Fukushima as Yukio, Will Yun Lee as the Silver Samurai, Tao Okamoto as Mariko and Svetlana Khodchenkova as Viper.
Much has been made about how the film is meant to be perceived as a standalone feature and not necessarily a sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine. The story is based on the celebrated comic book arc and finds Logan (Jackman) in Japan. There, samurai steel will clash with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed.
