Julianne Moore is reportedly in talks to star as President Alma Coin in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 and Part 2. Of course, there is a bit of a spoiler in revealing who her character is in the story so only read on if you don’t really care.
Coin is President of the previously thought destroyed District 13 and helps lead a rebellion against the Capitol in the finale to the Hunger Games franchise.
Moore would be joining Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Donald Sutherland, Philip Seymour Hoffman in the franchise that has certainly managed to attract name-brand talent, far exceeding the names Twilight was able to court and more along the lines of the Harry Potter franchise.
Francis Lawrence, who is directing this year’s release of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, will return to direct both parts of Mockingjay, which hit theaters on November 21, 2014 and November 20, 2015 respectively. [THR]
