Cannes 2013: Full Directors’ Fortnight Lineup Includes Short Film from Lynne Ramsay

The 2013 Cannes Film Festival lineup is virtually complete, though an Out of Competition selection or two may still be announced. This morning from Paris the fest announced their full Directors’ Fortnight (Quinzaine) selection, which we already knew would open with Ari Folman‘s The Congress, but added to that are a couple of Sundance features including Sebastián Silva‘s Magic Magic starring Michael Cera, Juno Temple, Emily Browning, Catalina Sandino and Agustin Sílva and Jim Mickle‘s cannibal feature We are What We are.

Additionally, Ruairi Robinson arrives with Last Days on Mars, a sci-fi thriller starring Liev Schreiber, Romola Garai and Elias Koteas centered on a group of astronaut explorers who succumb one by one to a mysterious and terrifying force while collecting specimens on Mars.

There will also be a special tribute to director Alejandro Jodorowosky who has a film in the selection, La Danza De La Realidad, as well as the documentary Jodorowsky’s Dune from director Frank Pavich, which takes a look at Jodorowsky’s failed attempt to adapt Frank Herbert’s novel.

Additionally there’s Un Voyageur from Marcel Ophuls, son of the legendary Max Ophüls, and while Lynne Ramsay may have had her troubles stateside, abandoning production of Jane Got a Gun, she has a film in Cannes, albeit a short as part of the nine film shorts selection.

I have added the complete Directors’ Fortnight (Quinzaine) selection directly below as well as added it to my list of the right here.

The Fortnight sidebar runs at the Cannes Festival from May 16-26 and I’m sure I’ll catch at least a couple of the entries if not more.
