The official website (via Bleeding Cool) for Warner Bros’ 300: Rise of an Empire has been updated with character information for the film’s hero Themostikles (Sullivan Stapleton) and villain Artemisia (Eva Green) and I’ve gathered the images and placed them in this post.
The film is set to hit theaters on August 2 and is likely to make a big splash at this year’s San Diego Comic Con.
The story is based on Frank Miller’s latest graphic novel “Xerxes”, and told in the breathtaking visual style as Zack Snyder‘s 300. The action here actually plays parallel in time to the events in the first film as Greek general Themistokles attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge that will change the course of the war. Opposite Themistokles is the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro), and Artemisia, vengeful commander of the Persian navy.
I had to piece together the art below, but the two new images you see to the right were also included in the pages of the official site where you can click here to get additional character information.
