“Arrested Development” is set to return to television via Netflix beginning May 26, which is to say I’ll be coming home from the 2013 Cannes Film Festival to something of a treat.
I found “Arrested Development” on DVD way back in 2004 and I’d say if there has ever been a television show that benefits from marathon viewing, this is the one. It didn’t immediately appeal to me, but as the episodes wore on the funnier it became. A universe of comedy was created as it centered on Michael Bluth (Jason Bateman) as he is forced to help his wildly eccentric family pick up the pieces after his wealthy father (Jeffrey Tambor) is arrested for shifty accounting practices.
The show co-starrred and Portia De Rossi, Michael Cera, Will Arnett, Tony Hale, Alia Shawkat, Jessica Walter and David Cross and featured fantastic guest stars from Charlize Theron, Liza Minnelli, Ed Begley, Jr. and my favorites Henry Winkler as Barry Zuckerkorn and Scott Baio as Bob Loblaw, both of which will be returning for this fourth season.
That said, not much is necessarily known as to where the new season will go in terms of story, though nine posters (via Empire, IGN and Vulture) have arrived online, each giving hints as to what we might expect. Check ’em out below.
