On Friday Bryan Singer tweeted out the below image offering the first look at Nicholas Hoult back in his Beast makeup for X-Men: Days of Future Past.
Additionally, EW caught up with Hugh Jackman who will reprise his role as Wolverine in the film just as he’s about to return to the big screen with another solo film for the character simply titled The Wolverine on July 26.
There’s no word on what exactly his role will be in the film, but it’s expected it will be small, though he certainly seems excited telling EW, “They told me the idea and, at the time, it was Matthew Vaughn [directing]. Instantly, I knew it was a winner. It just felt like everything was coming full circle.”
He also added his appreciation for Singer who directed the first two X-Men films which led to Jackman starring as Logan/Wolverine in what will be a total of seven X-Men films if you count his small cameo in X-Men: First Class once Days of Future Past hits theaters on July 18:
I owe, in a way, everything to Bryan. The first film I did in America was X-Men. Wolverine is a character I’ve loved playing and I can’t believe it’s going to be my seventh time playing it. It just blows me away. It not only feels like the right kind of project, it actually is so exciting that we’ll all be back together again. I don’t want to give away too much but I’m really excited not only to reunite with all those great actors but also to work with some of the other ones.
I don’t know about you, but Singer’s X2 is still the best of the franchise as far as I’m concerned and I’m hoping this is a return to what the franchise can be as I wasn’t nearly as big a fan of First Class as so many others seemed to be.
