It would appear one bit of casting for the upcoming The Muppets sequel, The Muppets… Again!, that was meant to be kept secret has leaked out as the blog Muppets Henson (via Bleeding Cool) noticed on Tom Hiddleston‘s client page at Hamilton Hodell included a note he would star in the film as the Great Escapo.
The page has since been updated after the news leaked but Tumblr blog Taste of Hiddles grabbed the following screen capture confirming the news.
Unfortunately there is no additional character information, but feel free to speculate.
Fans of the man that plays Loki in The Avengers and the upcoming Thor: The Dark World as well as those anticipating Jim Jarmusch‘s vampire feature Only Lovers Left Alive, in which Hiddleston stars opposite Tilda Swinton, now have on more thing to look forward to.
The Muppets… Again! finds Kermit and the gang on a global tour, selling out grand theaters all over Europe — Berlin, Madrid, London — but trouble arises when they run into Kermit’s doppleganger, the world’s number one criminal, Constantine.
Hiddleston joins the likes of Ricky Gervais, Tina Fey, Ty Burrell and Ray Liotta in the film, which is set to hit theaters on March 21.
