The first Ninja Turtle has been cast in the Michael Bay-produced Ninja Turtles and it’s Alan Ritchson (“Super Fun Night”) whose currently claim to fame is an upcoming role in The Hunger Games: Catching Fire where he’ll play Gloss. In Ninja Turtles he’ll play Raphael for director Jonathan Liebesman (Wrath of the Titans).
Ritchson and whatever fellow actors are cast as fellow Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles — Michaelangelo, Donatello and Leonardo — will find themselves performing in motion capture suits similar to the work Andy Serkis did on Rise of the Planet of the Apes. The result could be interesting.
As of now Megan Fox is the only fellow cast member attached to the project where she’s expected to play April O’Neil, a good friend of the turtles and a local newscaster.
Ninja Turtles is targeting a June 6, 2014 release. [Deadline]
