Good ‘Anchorman 2’ Casting, Radcliffe for ‘Frankenstein’, Berry’s Storm and Watson is ‘Cinderella’

1.) The cast of Anchorman: The Legend Continues is growing each and every day. Meagan Good and Dylan Baker have both joined the cast. These three join Will Ferrell, Steve Carell, Paul Rudd, Christina Applegate, David Koechner, Kristen Wiig and James Marsden in the film, which is rumored to take Ron Burgundy from San Diego to the big leagues in New York City. There were reports John C. Reily was joining the cast, but a rep for the production tells Deadline, “We were looking for a stand-in for lighting purposes who looks like John C. Reilly. We always demand that every stand-in looks like John C. Reilly.”

2.) Daniel Radcliffe is in final negotiations to star as Igor in a retelling of the classic tale Frankenstein for 20th Century Fox and director Paul McGuigan with a screenplay by Max Landis (Chronicle) based on Mary Shelley’s 19th century novel. Filming is expected to begin in the fall. [Variety]

3.) Tom Shadyac (Liar, Liar) is in negotiations to direct the English-language remake of The Intouchables for The Weinstein Co. Paul Feig penned the script and Colin Firth is currently attached to the lead role of a paralyzed aristocrat who hires a young man from the projects to be his caretaker. The original grossed more than $416 million worldwide. [Deadline]

4.) There has been talk of Halle Berry returning to play Storm in Bryan Singer‘s X-Men: Days of Future Past, but no confirmation. Well, Shadow and Act had a little chat with the actress and write, “She did confirm to me that she would be returning in the role. Most likely. Practically 90% sure.” The site adds that she said there were still a few details being negotiated, but she was well aware of the April start date.

5.) Ex-Harry Potter cast members finding fantasy role casting continues with Emma Watson is in talks to star in Cinderella for director Kenneth Branagh and Walt Disney. The live action adaptation already stars Cate Blanchett as the wicked stepmother. The script was written by Chris Weitz from a pitch by Aline Brosh McKenna (The Devil Wears Prada). The studio hopes to begin production sometime this fall and release the film in 2014. [Variety]
