Megan Fox To Play April O’Neil in Michael Bay’s ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’

Michael Bay and his Transformers and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen star Megan Fox have their history. Fox previously compared Bay to Adolf Hitler, saying in an interview when asked about working with her director:

God, I really wish I could go loose on this one. He’s like Napoleon and he wants to create this insane, infamous mad-man reputation. He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is. So he’s a nightmare to work for but when you get him away from set, and he’s not in director mode, I kind of really enjoy his personality because he’s so awkward, so hopelessly awkward. He has no social skills at all. And it’s endearing to watch him. He’s vulnerable and fragile in real life and then on set he’s a tyrant. Shia and I almost die when we make a Transformers movie. He has you do some really insane things that insurance would never let you do.

Following the quote she was replaced in Transformers: Dark of the Moon by Victoria’s Secret model Rosie Huntington-Whitely at which time Bay told GQ, “She was in a different world, on her BlackBerry. You gotta stay focused. And you know, the Hitler thing. Steven [Spielberg] said, ‘Fire her right now.'”

Well, it seems just as quickly as she’d be fired from one movie, she may be hired for the next. While Bay is working on Transformers 4, he’s also producing a new live-action Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film, which has suffered some snags along the way, but Turtles co-creator Kevin Eastman has kept it in the news, recently comparing it to The Avengers, at least in terms of “scope and roots origin.”

As far as a cast goes, Vanilla Ice has hinted at a possible appearance and it is currently expected to be directed by Jonathan Liebesman (Wrath of the Titans) with a script from Eastman and Andre Nemec. Now, you can add Fox to the mix.

On his website Bay posted a short blurb that simply read: “TMNT: we are bringing Megan Fox back into the family!”

Fox beat out Jane Levy (Evil Dead), Anna Kendrick (Up in the Air) and Elizabeth Olsen (Martha Marcy May Marlene) for the role in Ninja Turtles to play April O’Neil, news reporter and friend of the Turtles. I would supply a picture, but Google Images seems to only supply cartoon porn images of the girl who was last voiced by Sarah Michelle Gellar in the animated TMNT… So… there.
