Director James Mangold tweeted out the above picture of Hugh Jackman in The Wolverine with a note that read, “The past is always behind you, but the memories still remain.”
The sequel to X-Men Origins: Wolverine is set to hit theaters on July 26 and along with Jackman the film co-stars an international cast that includes Will Yun Lee, Svetlana Khodchenkova, Hiroyuki Sanada, Hal Yamanouchi, Tao Okamoto, Rila Fukushima and Brian Tee.
The film is based on the celebrated comic book arc and finds Logan (Jackman), the eternal warrior and outsider, in Japan. There, samurai steel will clash with adamantium claw as Logan confronts a mysterious figure from his past in an epic battle that will leave him forever changed.
