What I Watched, What You Watched #176

This was one hell of a packed week for me with Oscar nominations and my Top 50 Most Anticipated Movies list taking up most of my time. Now tonight brings the 2013 Golden Globes, which we’ll be live-blogging, and I need to begin putting together the 2012 RopeofSilicon Awards.

Last week I watched Criterion’s Two-Lane Blacktop and my goal was to review it on either Monday or Tuesday, but that didn’t work out. It was all I could do to get my review for Gangster Squad written after seeing it on Monday night.

I have a bunch of Criterion titles here I actually want to review along with the new Blu-ray for The Duellists, but it’s all a matter of finding the time. This week, all I could manage was to watch a few episodes of “The West Wing” as I’m still revisiting that series for the first time in several years, but other than that I’ve been reading Anthony Everitt‘s “[amazon asin=”1400066638″ text=”The Rise of Rome”]” and once that’s done, someone purchased Doris Kearns Goodwin‘s “[amazon asin=”0743270754″ text=”Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln”]” for me for Christmas and that will be my next read.

So, unfortunately I don’t have a lot to share with you this week, which puts it on you. What did you watch in theaters or on television? Share your cinematic hits and misses for the week below.

Oh, and as if the image above wasn’t obvious enough…. GO SEAHAWKS!!

SIDE NOTE: I’m going to be asking for your thoughts on Gangster Squad in another post in a few hours. So if you saw it, maybe just hold your thoughts for that post or just know I’m going to open the floor for that discussion separately.
