WORST POSTER FROM 2012

The worst poster from 2012 is going to be more of a “worst marketing” award as Walt Disney Pictures clearly had no idea what to do with John Carter. Simply finding a suitable picture to use to promote my review was a task and this selection of posters, I’m sure, did very little to get audiences into theaters.

Of course, compare the posters that were eventually used in theaters to the following (rather impressive) poster, which was used for the IMAX release. I guess the big problem with the following poster was not enough red, too obscure and no giant-toothed monsters.

The Alex Cross poster isn’t necessarily the worst poster, but my god, that tagline… “Don’t Ever Cross Alex Cross”? That is awful.

I understand you have to cram all your superheroes into one poster, but the giant Captain America in the background has always been hilarious to me.

I believe that’s supposed to be Will Smith in this Men in Black III poster, but the jury is still out. I’d say more, but I’m getting dizzy…

If I hadn’t given the award for Worst Poster to the John Carter franchise this poster would probably be #1. Look at those meat hooks on Crystal!

Come on…
