A pretty great shot of Tom Cruise on the set of the futuristic sci-fi All You Need is Kill has arrived that has him dressed in a mech-suit and outrunning a giant explosion.
In the feature, directed by Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity), Cruise plays Lt. Col. Bill Cage , an officer who has never seen a day of combat when he is unceremoniously demoted and then dropped into combat. Cage is killed within minutes, managing to take an alpha alien down with him. But he awakens back at the beginning of the same day and is forced to fight and die again… and again – as physical contact with the alien has thrown him into a time loop.
Warner Bros. is handling distribution and the film is currently slated for a March 14, 2014 release.
Starring opposite Cruise the film co-stars Emily Blunt, Charlotte Riley and Bill Paxton. Blunt plays another soldier, fighting alongside Cruise while Paxton takes the role of Cruise’s tough platoon leader.
