With a large ensemble cast, there have been scant details as to who plays what role in Kathryn Bigelow‘s hunt for Osama bin Laden feature, Zero Dark Thirty. However, this morning Sony has released three new pictures from the film with character details for Jessica Chastain, Kyle Chandler and Mark Strong.
Written by Mark Boal (The Hurt Locker), Bigelow explained the origin of its title saying it comes from the, “[The] military term for 30 minutes after midnight [as well as] the darkness and secrecy that cloaked the entire decade-long mission.” The film is a focus on the story of history’s greatest manhunt for the world’s most dangerous man, Osama bin Laden.
In it, Joel Edgerton and Nash Edgerton are two of the members of SEAL Team Six, which lead the raid on bin Laden’s compound. Joining them in the cast are Jason Clarke, Chris Pratt, Edgar Ramirez, Jennifer Ehle, Harold Perrineau Jr., Fares Fares, Mark Duplass and the previously mentioned Chandler, Chastain and Strong. Brand new pictures of the latter three are included below along with additional information on their characters in the film.
Zero Dark Thirty hits theaters on December 19.
