Matthew Libatique, Director of Photography on Darren Aronofsky‘s upcoming Noah, tweeted out the image you see below featuring the innards of Noah’s Ark and said, “Pre lighting on the holiest day of the year.”
The film, which stars Russell Crowe as Noah, is described as a close adaptation of the Biblical story of Noah’s Ark. In a world ravaged by human sin, Noah is given a divine mission: to build an Ark to save creation from the coming flood. The screenplay was written by Aronofsky and Ari Handel and revised by Academy Award-nominated screenwriter John Logan (Gladiator, Hugo). Jennifer Connelly, Saoirse Ronan, Douglas Booth, Logan Lerman, Emma Watson, Ray Winstone, Anthony Hopkins, Kevin Durand and Mark Margolis co-star.
The pic is loaded with snakes and a lone alligator is visible, but it seems this is just the start of the loading of the ark. There’s no indication on what’s real, what may be effects or how they’ll handle the entire sequence, but the tease is quite enticing.
Noah is set to hit theaters on March 28, 2014 so it seems it will be a while before we ever find out..
