Paramount Pictures is in the business of the Jacks, that is they have two hopeful franchises on the horizon, the first being the December release of Jack Reacher starring Tom Cruise in the titular role and the second being the latest iteration of Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan with Chris Pine falling into the shoes of the ex-Marine turned analyst previously played by Alec Baldwin and Harrison Ford.
First off, the picture above gives us a first look at Rosamund Pike opposite Cruise in Jack Reacher based on the Lee Child bestselling book series in which Reacher, a former military policeman-turned-drifter, investigates a case in which a lone sniper murders five victims before being captured. Reacher discovers it’s more than a simple open-and-shut case.
Jack Reacher will hit theaters on December 21.
Now we have our first look at Kenneth Branagh as the villain in Jack Ryan. Branagh is also directing the feature which is currently shooting in Moscow where Ryan is working as a financial analyst and uncovers a terrorist plot. The film is set for a December 25, 2013 release. Keira Knightley and Kevin Costner co-star.
