What I Watched, What You Watched #158

This week was one of the first in a long time where I almost went the entire seven days without seeing a movie, but it was a last minute visit to my mother’s house where we ended the night with an ABC Family showing of Mean Girls on in the background. Lindsay Lohan before she went off the rails, a young Amanda Seyfried and a goth Lizzy Caplan before she was cursing up a storm in Bachelorette.

The one thing I did notice, however, was just how much Tina Fey‘s voice stands out in that script. Back then she was primarily known for her work on “Saturday Night Live” but Mean Girls soon led to Baby Mama and then “30 Rock” and now her comedic styling is instantly recognizable.

With that being my only film this week it serves as the calm before the storm as I leave for the Toronto Film Festival on Wednesday and already have three movies slated for Thursday — Looper, Argo and Anna Karenina — and that is just the start of things.

I have posted a work up of what my TIFF schedule might look like over on the RopeofSilicon Tumblr page with the screenings I will most likely be attending in bold, but it’s an ever-changing thing.

On Monday I’ll be posting my top ten most anticipated films at the festival and then on Wednesday what I believe will be my schedule while I’m there so you know what to look for and when.

Other than that, it’s your turn. What did you watch this week in theaters or at home?
