Jackson recently posted on Facebook announcing the film has wrapped principal photography with the above image saying:
We made it! Shoot day 266 and the end of principal photography on The Hobbit. Thanks to our fantastic cast and crew for getting us this far, and to all of you for your support! Next stop, the cutting room. Oh, and Comic Con!
The Hobbit panel at Comic Con will take place this coming Saturday, July 14, where I’m sure fans will get a nice taste of the film and reactions will be glowing.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is just part one of the story and will hit theaters on December 14 with The Hobbit: There and Back Again arriving a year later on December 13, 2013.
