The first look at Rachel Weisz in The Bourne Legacy appeared in the print edition of “Entertainment Weekly” (via The Playlist), giving us our first look at her character, Marta, who would appear, based on the image, to be fitting into the Franka Potente and Julia Stiles role from the first three films as the character Matt Damon as Jason Bourne was meant to protect, by accident in some cases.

This time around Damon is gone and Jeremy Renner will star in the film as Aaron Cross, another one of Treadstone’s assassins whose story is triggered based on the events that took place in The Bourne Identity, Supremacy and Ultimatum. Who Marta is and who Aaron really is, for that matter, isn’t entirely clear, but a new trailer for the film is set to premiere in front of Snow White and the Huntsman this weekend so I suspect more of the story will be revealed than what was seen in the minimalist teaser trailer released earlier this year.

When asked by EW about her character she said, “What am I allowed to say? I think almost nothing at all… I’m so paranoid, I’m sorry.”

The Bourne Legacy hits theaters on August 3 and along with Renner and Weisz, the film stars Edward Norton, Oscar Isaac, Joan Allen, Albert Finney, Stacy Keach and Scott Glenn.

Check out a full-sized look at the picture below. I altered it a little to clean up the scanned image, which is why their faces look so smooth.
