9 Great Posters for 9 Not-So-Great Movies (That I Haven’t Seen)

Silent Night, Deadly Night

A young teen dresses up as Santa and goes on a Christmas killing spree… Let’s see, yup, getting all that from the poster and in a very cool little way. I think posters like this, while promoting films that may not exactly be all that great, speak to the power of cinema and as far as horror films go the premise for this one isn’t too bad. In fact, a remake could potentially work and if they went there, I’d suggest using the same poster.

The Thing with Two Heads

Now this one really takes the cake. It’s easy to dismiss at the outset, but just stop and take it all in. Look at the imagery and read the words.

The film stars Oscar-winner Ray Milland (The Lost Weekend) as a rich but racist man who devises a scheme to have his head transplanted onto another man’s body. However, his health begins to deteriorate too quickly and doctors have no other course but to put his head on the body of a black man (Roosevelt Grier) from death row. What?!?! And then look at the poster, “They transplanted a WHITE BIGOT’S HEAD onto a SOUL BROTHER’S BODY!” It’s a film I could maybe, MAAAAAYBE, believe was real if it starred Richard Pryor and Gene Wilder and was a comedy, but it’s not, not by a long shot. Don’t believe me? Watch the whole film below if you have the time.

And so there you have it. That’s the end of it and if you missed my list of 11 great posters for 11 not-so-great films you can check those out right here.
