Idlewild
I always loved this poster for Idlewild, it spoke to me in a way I can’t even really explain. It was simple, yet said all I needed to know. Something of a musical wake-me-up, but the film was a total disappointment filled with all the traditional movie trappings that sucked the life out of it, relying too heavily on the music to give it a heartbeat. Yet, six years later that poster still stands out.
Invasion
Here’s simple for you. I love it. If it didn’t have the names of the actors on there it would be perfect. It screams urgency, concern and the love of a mother for her child all without floating heads, explosions or concerned faces.
The Limits of Control
This poster is excellent, and had I ranked this list this would probably have made the number one position. The film though, man, Jim Jarmusch is a total hit and miss in my book and, for me, this one was a wild miss.
