Columbia Pictures has released the first teaser poster for The Amazing Spider-Man as they attempt to imply this may be a darker, moodier Spider-Man feature than the Sam Raimi features that ended with Spider-Man 3 in 2007.
To go along with the poster, which can be viewed at the bottom of this post, Comic Book Movie has posted three pieces of international art that are a bit more colorful and are said to be part of the international marketing campaign. Those three images can be viewed using the thumbnails directly below.
The Amazing Spider-Man will be released in 3D on July 3, 2012 and features Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker (aka Spider-Man) and is said to focus more on his high school years and the development of his powers. He is joined by Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Rhys Ifans as Dr. Curt Connors who becomes the film’s villain The Lizard, Denis Leary as George Stacy, Campbell Scott as Richard Parker, Irrfan Khan as Nels Van Adder (aka Proto-Goblin), Martin Sheen as Ben Parker and Sally Field as May Parker. The film is directed by Marc Webb (500 Days of Summer) from a screenplay by James Vanderbilt and Alvin Sargent and Steve Kloves.
