Goodman is Reteaming with the Coen Brothers and an Offer is Out to Justin Timberlake as Well

It’s about to be a Raising Arizona reunion. Or is it a Barton Fink reunion? An O Brother Where Art Thou? reunion? Oh, I got it, a Big Lebowski reunion… and all those others as well as John Goodman is set to reteam with Joel and Ethan Coen in Inside Llewyn Davis, the sibling duo’s next film, which already stars Oscar Isaac as a struggling folk musician born and bred in Queens who, despite being a talented singer and guitarist, just can’t seem to make ends meet playing music.

Goodman’s role, obviously, is unknown, but there is a bit more news with Variety pointing out that Justin Timberlake has been offered a role and should he accept would play a man married to Carey Mulligan‘s character, Jean. Unfortunately, that’s the extent of the knowledge on either of those characters as well.

For Goodman this is just yet another high profile film on his radar as he’ll be seen in the already much loved The Artist later this year along with the anticipated Best Picture contender Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. He also has a role in Ben Affleck’s Argo and is preparing to reprise his role in Pixar’s Monsters University.

With Timberlake it would be yet another role of a lifetime and probably a role right up his alley as expectation would be for it to require some kind of singing as the film is expected to have plenty of music.

Inside Llewyn Davis is being shot entirely without studio backing and is expected to begin shooting in New York City in February.
