Albert Finney is the Latest to Join ‘James Bond 23’

According to Baz Bamigboye (via The Playlist), Albert Finney will now be a part of two spy-based action-thrillers. After already being confirmed to reprise his role as Dr. Albert Hirsch in the Bourne franchise in The Bourne Legacy, he will now join Sam Mendes’ Bond 23.

Word is that it’s “a reasonably big role” as he’ll play a higher-up at the British Foreign Office, and superior to Judi Dench who returns as Bond’s handler, M.

This film is shaping up amazingly well as I expect we’ll be getting an official “start of production” press release in the near future with shooting getting underway next week at Pinewood Studios and a press conference scheduled at the same time.

Among the names expected to be confirmed at said press conference we already know Daniel Craig will return as Bond and Dench will again play M, but beyond that Javier Bardem is expected to play one of the film’s villians as is Ralph Fiennes, Berenice Marlohe will play the film’s new “Bond Girl,” Naomie Harris is said to be playing Miss Moneypenny, Helen McCrory will have an unconfirmed role in the film as will Ben Whishaw and Rory Kinnear will again play M’s assistant, reprising his role from Quantum of Solace.

The title at this point is rumored to be Skyfall and is already slated for a November 9, 2012 release.
