I’ve received two more clips from The Rum Diary, which hits theaters this Friday, October 28 and stars Johnny Depp, Amber Heard, Aaron Eckhart, Richard Jenkins, Giovanni Ribisi and Michael Rispoli.
I will be seeing this film on Thursday as the screening tomorrow conflicts with the screening of In Time (a very deliberate move forcing press to wait until Thursday when they will be less likely to see and review it) and I can’t say I’m all that confident I’m going to be seeing a good film, but I am definitely hopeful.
The Rum Diary is based on the debut novel by Hunter S. Thompson and features Depp as Paul Kemp, a roaming journalist who travels to Puerto Rico to work for the San Juan Star, and soon becomes obsessed with Chenault (Heard), a wildly attractive fiancee of shady local businessman Hal Sanderson (Eckhart).
