‘Die Hard 5’ to be Titled ‘A Good Day to Die Hard’, Releasing Valentine’s Day 2013

Bruce Willis will return as John McClaine in yet another Die Hard offering now with news Die Hard 5 will be titled A Good Day to Die Hard with John Moore (Max Payne) directing for a February 14, 2013 release. This time around, Skip Woods has scripted an adventure which is rumored to take John McClaine to Russia where he and his son are drawn into a conflict with local forces.

In other release date news, Fox has set a October 5, 2012 release date for Taken 2 in which Liam Neeson will reprise his role as Bryan Mills, an ex-government employee who previously worked as a self-described “preventer”. There is no word on the plot for that film though. Taken 2 will be directed by Olivier Megaton (Colombiana) and will face off against Tim Burton’s Frankenweenie and the ill-advised The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 3D that weekend.

Next, Fox has also set an official release date and title for their follow-up to 2010’s Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief starring Logan Lerman as the titular character. While the original only made $88 million domestically on a $95 million budget, it ended up grossing over $226 million worldwide. The sequel will be titled Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters, an adaptation of Rick Riordan‘s second book in the Percy Jackson franchise, which follows Percy (Lerman) and his group of friends as they head to the titular sea to find the mythical Golden Fleece, as well as to free a friend who has been captured there. It’s expected the sequel will draw from other Percy Jackson titles as well as “Sea of Monsters.”

Percy Jackson: Sea of Monsters will hit theaters on Wednesday, March 27, 2013, two days before Andrew Niccol‘s adaptation of “Twilight” author, Stephenie Meyer’s The Host starring Saorise Ronan.

Finally, Lionsgate recently set a February 22, 2013 release date for I, Frankenstein, a horror film to be directed by Stuart Beattie based on a graphic novel by Kevin Grevioux (co-creator of the Underworld franchise) telling the story of Frankenstein’s creature, Adam (Aaron Eckhart), who has survived to present day due to a genetic quirk in his creation. Making his way to a dark, gothic metropolis, he finds himself caught in an all-out, centuries old war between two immortal clans.
