Universal is preparing their sequel to one of the more surprising hits of 2010 and the first bit of marketing has arrived. While Despicable Me 2 (I’m sure they will come up with a snazzy subtitle) doesn’t hit theaters until July 3, 2013, it never hurts to get the masses clamoring.
To this point there aren’t any plot details other than the expectation it will pick up where it left off with Gru (voiced by Steve Carell), a one-time supervillain, finding a family in three little orphaned girls. Pierre Coffin and Chris Renaud are returning to direct and original screenwriters Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio are working on the script.
