The ‘War Horse’ Poster Debuts

Entertainment Weekly has debuted the poster for Steven Spielberg‘s War Horse, which seems to do a pretty good job of echoing the vibe I was getting from the few snippets of the trailer that I watched, and I didn’t even come close to watching the whole thing.

The film is obviously being looked at as an awards juggernaut with Spielberg at the helm and the source material being based on Michael Morpurgo’s novel, which in turn was made into a Tony award-winning play. The film is set against the backdrop of World War I and follows the extraordinary friendship between Albert (Jeremy Irvine) and his horse, Joey. The two are separated but their fates continue to intertwine over the course of WWI as Joey is sold into the British army and sent off to serve on the battlefields of France.

Check out the poster below and, if you haven’t done so yet, you can watch the trailer here. War Horse hits theaters on December 28.
