I Don’t Know What They’re Saying, but Here’s a German TV Spot for ‘Tintin’

It’s hard to gauge the interest in Steven Spielberg‘s The Adventures of Tintin. Are people interested in it because it’s a Spielberg film? Because of the character created by Herge? Because it’s 3D, performance capture animation? What is it really? Also, I can’t quite tell if it’s excitement generated by a vocal minority or by a larger group.

Personally, okay, it could be cool, action adventure with a little kid and his dog with a cast of voice actors I can appreciate including Jamie Bell, Andy Serkis, Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Daniel Craig, Toby Jones, Mackenzie Crook, Gad Elmaleh, Cary Elwes, Tony Curran and Daniel Mays. Looking good, but I don’t have the level of excitement I’ve seen from other corners.

Below is a new TV spot (via The Playlist) for the film, and ironically, you won’t be hearing any of the names I mentioned above since this is a German-dubbed (that is unless some of these actors decided to pull double-duty) TV spot. The story apparently follows Tintin, an intrepid young reporter whose relentless pursuit of a good story thrusts him into a world of high adventure. The film hits theaters on December 23.
