Three new images from David Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo have arrived and the one thing that remains obvious to me from everything I’ve seen is that this movie is going to be relying heavily on tone and performance as absolutely nothing that’s been teased is a surprise to anyone that’s read the book or seen the original Swedish adaptation. Me? I’m in the boat of having done both. Luckily, I love Fincher’s work and particularly the emotional tone that emanates from his films and his casting is usually spot on. So whether the story is a surprise or not, I’m still incredibly excited for it.
The images above come via Empire as part of their Fall Preview where Fincher is quoted saying, “We want to find a place where you can talk about something and be really, really hard-hitting – like the material it’s based on – and yet we also want to make it a moviegoing experience.”
