Strong, Hardy and Firth Featured in ‘Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy’ Character Posters

It seems Tinker, Tailor, Soldier, Spy has become the default “most anticipated film” for a lot of people around the web, and for good reason. With a cast that includes Gary Oldman, Tom Hardy, Mark Strong, Colin Firth, Stephen Graham, Benedict Cumberbatch and Ciaran Hinds; the director of Let the Right One In, Tomas Alfredson; and source material based on the Cold War spy novel by John le Carre, it’s hard not to be excited. The film will be making its worldwide debut at the Venice Film Festival at the end of the month and will then hit UK theaters on September 16 before opening two months later, on November 18, here in the States.

So, for those of us that have to wait we have a pair of international trailers and now three new character posters courtesy of Sky Movies.

The film is set in the 1970s and centers on George Smiley (Oldman), a recently retired MI6 agent, who is doing his best to adjust to a life outside the secret service. However, when a disgraced agent reappears with information concerning a mole at the heart of the Circus, Smiley is drawn back into the murky field of espionage. Tom Hardy plays the British agent Ricki Tarr, Colin Firth plays Bill Haydon, one of the British intelligence officers suspected of being a Russian spy and Mark Strong plays Circus agent Jim Prideaux. All three are featured on the following character posters which you can check out below or in our gallery right here, where I also have the poster for Gary Oldman’s character.
