Box-Office Oracle: Predicting Another Weekend at #1 for ‘Transformers: Dark of the Moon’

Two new releases go wide this weekend, though neither should pose a serious threat to Transformers: Dark of the Moon. Let’s break it down!
Laremy predicted the #1 movie correctly 9 Weeks In A Row
They’ve been marketing around the clock, to the point that I realized I’d seen most of the big jokes from the trailers as I was watching. And I avoid trailers. Still, the market is primed and ready, the leads likable.
Prediction: $29.092 million
MTC Tracking is at $27m for Horrible Bosses and $18m for Zookeeper. I do think Kevin James and his talking crew of animals will stumble, but parents will need something, so a number near Popper’s makes sense.
Prediction: $19.151 million
The production budget here is listed at $200m. So which would you rather have the cash from, Cars 2 or Transformers: Dark of the Moon? I’ll inform your decision a bit: this one just cleared $200m worldwide. Yeeps.
Prediction: $13.662 million
$100m on a $20m production budget means someone was paying attention to the bottom line.
Prediction: $6.89 million
$21m on a $30m production budget means no one was paying attention to the bottom line.
Prediction: $6.548 million
$11m from Japan, another $8m from Australia. These guys own the Pacific Rim.
Prediction: $5.263 million
I’ve got it massively frontloaded. That’s what you get when you target tweens.
Prediction: $3.279 million
Five out of the past six weekends in the top ten. Result.
Prediction: $2.336 million
I worry for a world that puts this AND Zookeeper in the top ten. But it looks probable.
Prediction: $2.214 million

How say you? Want to make a cheeky $30m+ call on Horrible Bosses? Am I too low on the family dollar? Predictions away!
