Box-Office Predictions: Will ‘Transformers 3’ Become 2011’s First 3-Day Opener to Top $100 Million?

Transformers: Dark of the Moon took in $37.3m on Wednesday, better than the original, but not as good as the sequel. So where do we go from here? Let’s break it down! Note: These predictions don’t include the Monday holiday.
Laremy predicted the #1 movie correctly 8 Weeks In A Row
A 44 percent dip isn’t terrible. This one looks like a safe call to crack $500m worldwide.
Prediction: $37.036 million
Sony made a nice value bet here. The market is responding well to bawdy comedy.
Prediction: $14.537 million
A complete nightmare. It’s set up nicely in the older demographic … but they also tend to avoid opening weekends.
Prediction: $11 million
$137m worldwide with more to come. The holdovers have been decent.
Prediction: $8.419 million
I have no idea how you greenlight a sequel here. Kudos to Warner Bros. for eschewing conventional business practices.
Prediction: $7.571 million
My next Oracle contract will contain a clause stating I don’t have to talk about anything Popper’s-related.
Prediction: $6.392 million
Teens will be at Transformers: Dark of the Moon this weekend, only the most rabid Selena Gomez fans will buy a ticket.
Prediction: $6 million
Loved the film, though I’m not sure where they spent the $30m production budget.
Prediction: $3.336 million
$169m worldwide means Ms. Wiig isn’t gonna hang around SNL after this season.
Prediction: $2.929 million
