2000AD posted this following teaser poster for Lionsgate’s Dredd, which originated at a Flickr account where the user wrote:
my friends dad worked on the new judge dredd movie and he gave me this which is a sort of advance poster to promote the movie which wont be out until next year
The Millennium and Nu Image logos are one sign this is a fake since they don’t appear to be producing the film, but I have cleaned it up quite a bit when compared to the digital camera shot that was originally taken, which you can see at the bottom of this post.
As for the film, it’s directed by Pete Travis (Vantage Point) and stars Karl Urban in a new adaptation centered on the character Judge Joe Dredd created by writer John Wagner and artist Carlos Ezquerra from the British science fiction anthology “2000 AD”. The story centers on Dredd (Urban), an American law enforcement officer in a violent city of the future where uniformed Judges combine the powers of police, judge, jury and executioner. Dredd and his fellow Judges are empowered to arrest, sentence and even execute criminals on the spot. The film co-stars Olivia Thirlby, Lena Headey and Domhnall Gleeson.
