Megan Fox Prepares to Work With Another ‘Dictator’

So without even being in Transformers: Dark of the Moon Megan Fox has managed to become part of the conversation as her comment back in 2009 when she referred to Michael Bay saying, “He wants to be like Hitler on his sets, and he is,” apparently lost her her job… At least, according to Bay. So what does she do? She turns around and signs on for another kind of “dictator,” one played by Sacha Baron Cohen and hopefully one that won’t have a problem making her feel comfortable on set.

The Hollywood Reporter has the news that Megan Fox as well as John C. Reilly have joined Sacha Baron Cohen’s The Dictator, both taking on what are said to be cameo roles, but in what capacity is not yet known.

The film co-stars Ben Kingsley, Anna Faris and Jason Mantzoukas and has been referred to as a cross between the Eddie Murphy features, Trading Places and Coming to America, and the studio describes it as the “heroic” story of a dictator who risked his life to ensure that democracy would never come to the country he so lovingly oppressed.

The story was inspired by the best selling novel “Zabibah and The King” which was written by Saddam Hussein, which was recently described as being about “a benevolent, beloved king who falls in love with a beautiful, victimized girl who was raped by her cruel husband. Believe it or not, it’s a subtle allegory for Iraq and the United States — the king (based, obviously, on Saddam) is the peaceful Iraq, while the cruel, rapist husband is the Gulf War-waging United States.”

If you haven’t yet seen the first photo of Cohen in character check it out directly below. Production is currently underway for a May 11, 2012 release. The “dictator” in charge of helming this picture is Cohen’s Borat and Bruno helmer Larry Charles. I just can’t help but get the feeling this casting has something to do with those Michael Bay quotes, but I could be way off.
