Yahoo has debuted the unimpressive new poster for Paul W.S. Anderson’s The Three Musketeers, which will be released in 3D on October 14 and as you can see from the poster it stars Logan Lerman, Ray Stevenson, Luke Evans, Matthew MacFadyen, Christoph Waltz, Mads Mikkelsen, Milla Jovovich and Orlando Bloom. Juno Temple and Til Schweiger are also in it, but they don’t get any poster time.
The film is described as a reboot of Alexandre Dumas’ story as the hot-headed young D’Artagnan (Lerman) joins forces with three rogue Musketeers (MacFadyen, Evans and Stevenson) as they must stop the evil Richlieu (Waltz) and face off with Buckingham (Bloom) and the treacherous Milady (Jovovich).
I’m sorry, but I have to be honest and say this is a poster that really turns me off from this film. Yeah, that’s sort of a knee-jerk reaction to what looks like a mix of bad television and Pirates of the Caribbean, but just the look on Bloom’s face at the top of the one sheet is enough to tell me this may not be very good. MacFadyen looks uncomfortable, Waltz looks like he’s playing the same character again, Lerman looks dumbfounded and Jovovich looks like she’s battling cramps. Add the fact it’s another 3D feature to the mix and you start to lose me even quicker.
