I’ve never been to Austin’s Alamo Drafthouse, but I have heard what a great place it is to go and see movies and I guess that is only reinforced by their no texting/no talking policy which was reaffirmed in an email I received today along with a not safe for work voice mail rant that was left by one of their customers that was ultimately kicked out for using her cell phone in the theater.
The email was accompanied by the following statement and video:
First, for anyone that has experienced annoying, brightly lit cell phone screens while watching a movie in the theater, here’s a fun little nugget from the Alamo Drafthouse that will bring a smile to your face this Monday morning…
A warning to all texters/talkers, if we may paraphrase Sly Stallone from COBRA… “texting/talking in a theater is the disease, the Alamo Drafthouse is the cure.”
I’m sure we all wish all theaters would be so vigilant.
