Last night several new clips from several movies debuted during the MTV Movie Awards and I’m not about to dedicate one post to each of them so here are three of them all at once. Let’s have a look…
First is a clip from 30 Minutes or Less, which hits theaters on August 12 and stars Jesse Eisenberg, Danny McBride, Aziz Ansari and Nick Swardson and is directed by Zombieland helmer Ruben Fleischer. The story centers on a pizza guy (Eisenberg) who is kidnapped by two criminals (McBride and Swardson) and forced to rob a bank.
Next is a clip from Fox’s Rise of the Planet of the Apes, which hits theaters on August 5 and stars James Franco, Freida Pinto and Brian Cox. The story is set in present-day San Francisco and reveals the origins of a war that ultimately led to a global apocalypse – and to Earth becoming the Planet of the Apes.
Finally, a clip from The Help, which arrives on August 12 and centers on the three women you see pictured above — Skeeter (Emma Stone), Aibileen (Viola Davis) and Minny (Octavia Spencer) — three very different women in Mississippi during the 1960s, who build an unlikely friendship around a secret writing project that breaks societal rules and puts them all at risk. From their improbable alliance a sisterhood emerges, instilling all of them with the courage to transcend the lines that define them, and the realization that sometimes those lines are made to be crossed — even if it means bringing everyone in town face-to-face with the changing times. Bryce Dallas Howard, Allison Janney, Cicely Tyson, Jessica Chastain, Sissy Spacek, Mike Vogel, David Oyelowo and Wes Chatham also star.
