Al trip to the Cannes Film Festival wouldn’t be complete without offering you a look around the sights, and I will begin this year’s tour with a look at the marketing to be found along the Croisette.
First let me point out the picture above, which is the new facade to the Palais des Festivals of which I will be getting a panoramic shot of like I did last year. Now let’s get to the posters and banners around the Croisette.
The Carlton hotel is always decked out and where there was marketing for The Chronicles of Narnia: Voyage of the Dawn Treader last year, there is now a large promotion for Cowboys and Aliens, which arrives July 29 and stars Daniel Craig, Olivia Wilde, Harrison Ford and Sam Rockwell.
Here’s a look at the rest of the promotion.
On the left is the sales banner for Alexandre Aja’s Cobra: The Space Pirate based on the manga of the same name. I didn’t look close enough to see what Land of the Beast is, but it’s in 3D and features a big grizzly bear, not sure if it’s a documentary or some kind of horror, but my guess is the latter. I’ll try and take some time and get a closer look later this week.
Rotating poster pillars can be seen all over Cannes and this one featured a look at Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, Priest and The Tree of Life.
I know all of you can’t wait for the next Kevin James talks to animals movie.
Not a movie poster, but that’s Charlize Theron and she’s worth a snap.
