Filmax knows what they’re doing when it comes to trying to get your film sold in the festival marketplace. You debut a sales teaser online, give some information on the film to the fans, offer an early piece of artwork and create some buzz. And that’s exactly what they’re doing with Sleep Tight from Jaume Balaguero, one-half of the duo behind the hit horror franchise REC.
Starring Luis Tosar and Marta Etura, Filmax will be taking Sleep Tight to Cannes next month in hopes of finding a buyer and they’ve offered the poster art you see to the right, the synopsis and the sales teaser just below. After giving the teaser a watch, it looks like it could be a good thriller as it centers on an eternally depressed Barcelona doorman whose only interest is sharing his unhappiness with others.
If that description isn’t enough, Filmax has provided a much longer one right here, but I think the trailer below should be more than enough to get the point of the film across. Now here’s to hoping more production studios follow suit and give us a glimpse of what films will be hitting the Cannes market.
