Thor Battles Doctors in Clip #3

Paramount has released a third clip from Thor as the measured promotion for the film continues leading up to its May 6 release. This time around Thor (Chris Hemsworth) isn’t hit with a taser or mud wrestling, but battling the big bad doctors.

I have to say, this film has me extremely curious. There is an obvious comedic angle it’s working with, which I guess should be expected considering Robert Downey Jr. brought a lot of comedy to the Iron Man franchise. The difference between the two appears to be that while Downey brought a sarcastic wit to Tony Stark, Thor seems to be more campy with its humor. I’m not saying this is a bad thing, but that it makes me wonder how Marvel and director Joss Whedon will weave Thor, Iron Man and Captain America: The First Avenger together for The Avengers.

I am assuming Captain America is going to be more along the lines of Iron Man in terms of its humor considering Chris Evans has a sarcastic approach to his characters similar to that of Downey. Add Mark Ruffalo as the Incredible Hulk to the mix and it should be an interesting experiment.

As for the clip you clicked on the headline to watch, it’s directly below.

Paramount Pictures and Marvel Entertainment present the epic adventure, Thor, which spans the Marvel Universe from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is the mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth), a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth by his father Odin (Anthony Hopkins) and is forced to live among humans. A beautiful, young scientist, Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), has a profound effect on Thor, as she ultimately becomes his first love. It’s while here on Earth that Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.
