While I can’t wait to check out Woody Allen’s upcoming Cannes Film Festival opener Midnight in Paris in just over a month I’m already getting excited over his next film. Currently listed in the database as Untitled Woody Allen Rome Set Feature we really don’t know much more about it than that… that is, until today.
Entertainment Weekly has a small nugget of news regarding the film after speaking with Penelope Cruz, who won an Oscar for her role in Allen’s Vicky Cristina Barcelona, and it appears she’ll be teaming with the writer-director once again.
“I know [what I’m doing next], but the thing is that I have to ask the director what I can say and what I cannot say,” Cruz told EW. “Because he’s very secretive. It’s… it’s a movie with Woody Allen. But I really cannot say anything about the story or the characters.”
I expect additional details will begin to leak out regarding the picture in May as Midnight hits the Croisette and then theaters on a limited roll out beginning May 20.
Cruz will next be seen in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
